Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS)

Overview of the programme
This initial award has been developed to provide a Threshold Licence to teach in the LL sector in the UK. It is also ideal for teachers who need an adaptation to the sector and/or modernisation of skills. It is also suitable for overseas trained teachers as a form of acclimatisation to the sector and accelerated skills acquisition. The programme culminates in a “teaching skills assessment” and thus it is a very useful form of recognition of teaching ability. PTLLS is offered at levels 3 or 4 and can be used as a foundation qualification and as a stepping stone to further training- the certificate qualification which has been developed for teachers in an associate teacher role.
